Warranty can be very different per product/application type. These should be clearly indicated on your purchase invoice.

The Circadian®  and ProDurance systems has a default 36 month manufacturer’s warranty on workmanship and factory defects from invoice date to the End customer. Details of this can be downloaded with our Terms and Conditions pdf.

Note: there are versions with lower warranties

The Battery Capacity is warrantied to 80% of rated capacity expressed in Amp hours. There are no pro-rated clauses. There is a cycle restriction usually defined at 1200 cycles. Our assumption is therefore over one full discharge/charge cycle per day, which would be 1095 cycles in 36 months. The Li-Ion batteries are of course fully usable in most applications below 80% capacity and we expect to still be above the ( sometimes warrantied) 60% capacity level at 5 years. Lithium ion Batteries with capacities below 60%- although still theoretically functional for some years should be replaced, since they are potentially unreliable and therefore unsuited to a professional environment. Beware: a common deception is to have Long warranties with no defined capacity level; building on this long decline feature of Li-Ion, such batteries might still formally function and have cycles at 5% capacity levels, but this is of course next to meaningless in terms of efficient Hospital workflow!

Some of our products do have a reduced warranty. In the Circadian system this applies to our 240Wh battery, which has the benefit of more power, but the consequence is a  reduced life expectancy, especially if high loads and more frequent cycling are in play. ProDurance batteries ofer a choice between standard Capacity and high warranty or higher capacity and reduced warranty.

Why the cycle limit? Batteries decline with use. If an application is not correctly specified, for example an 80Wh battery is used on a 60W load, the consequence will be that the battery is discharged quickly- in this case in less than 1 ½ hours, which implies multiple full cycles per day. Under such circumstances a warranty based on calendar months or years becomes irrelevant.

To make a warranty claim contact your supplier first. A copy of the purchase invoice and a detailed description of the reason for the claim will be required, together with a contact person. We ask that the claim is made before sending in the goods, since we need to understand the issue at hand and have the opportunity to ask questions, advise on corrective actions etc before additional transport costs are made.
